HOW WE ARE FUNDED

We do not receive any government funding and since our inception in 2003 we have not charged any adoption fees to applicants or adoptive parents. The reason for this is that one of our major aims is to reduce the cost of intercountry adoption to as low as possible so that it is affordable for the average New Zealand family.

We have relied solely on donations to cover our operating expenses. If there is a surplus, those funds are placed in a ‘reserve fund’ to be used against the following year’s operating costs.

If ever required, we are permitted to charge reasonable adoption programme fees and, whilst we have not yet had to do so, future circumstances may lead to the charging of fees being introduced.
